About 15 miles northeast of Sacramento, Fair Oaks Village is unique
in the Sacramento region and little changed from the
turn-of-the-century village. While outlying areas of the
region have shown a dramatic increase in home building, the Village
has preserved its small-town identity.
Changes often have been in the type of occupancy
rather than in building structures: butcher shop to deli; movie
theater to art gallery; home to restaurant; pharmacy to fabric shop.
With an abundance of feral chickens and the beauty of the nearby
American River, Fair Oaks Village keeps its original flavor as a
traditional small town.
Fair
Oaks Village includes an outdoor amphitheater, community center,
park and many special events throughout the year. Easy to
access from I-80 or Highway 50, the Village is also served by
Regional Transit (bus) from Sacramento. The retail shopping
with friendly proprietors and quaint ambiance make Fair Oaks Village
a great place to spend a day!
